About VS1 Games

VS1 Games exists to bring players closer to that feeling again.

Professional footballers spend their seasons representing clubs, playing within systems and competing for something bigger than themselves.

VS1 gives the individual footballer one day during the summer to play for themselves. A day to show their game, their personality and their character alongside exceptional players they would not ordinarily face.

Our mission is simple:

Put the individual footballer first.

The VS1 Games Office is the independent governing and production organization behind the VS1 Games network.

Its purpose is to safeguard the identity, integrity and long-term direction of VS1 Games on behalf of its players and Member Clubs.

The Office centrally governs the VS1 Games brand, competition format, production standards, player experience, athlete relationships and presentation of every Member Club, ensuring that as the network grows, the principles on which VS1 Games was created remain unchanged.

The VS1 Games Office was founded by former professional footballer Charly Musonda Jr., who serves as Founder & Show Commissioner.

The Show Commissioner oversees the vision, player experience, athlete relationships, brand, format and production standards across the VS1 Games network.

The role exists to protect the founding idea behind VS1 Games:

The player remains the main character.

VS1 Member Clubs are independently owned, private off-season destinations where professional footballers from leagues around the world meet for one day of competition, media, culture and entertainment.

Players do not sign for, represent or belong to a VS1 Member Club. There are no season-long commitments or VS1 teams for players to join.

Instead, players choose the destination that best fits their summer and participate for a single VS1 day, subject to selection and availability.

A player may experience different VS1 Member Clubs throughout their career.

Each Member Club stages its own annual VS1 Games Meet under one centrally governed brand, competition format and production standard.

The season is for the team. The summer belongs to the player.

VS1 Games is being built around destinations where the world's players already want to spend their summers.

Miami serves as the flagship home of VS1 Games.

Each Member Club brings the culture, energy and identity of its destination while remaining part of one VS1 Games network.

One summer. Different cities. One VS1.

VS1 Games is not a traditional ticketed sporting event.

Each Meet is a private, non-live sports-entertainment show, filmed behind closed doors at a VS1 Member Club in front of a selected live-show audience.

There is no traditional stadium crowd and the competition is not designed around a live broadcast.

The controlled environment allows the experience to be built around the players rather than the demands of a conventional sporting event.

Games, arrivals, interviews, fashion, personality and behind-the-scenes moments are captured throughout the day and transformed into episodic entertainment for VS1 Games TV and digital platforms.

The environment exists for one reason:

VS1 Games brings together established stars, standout professionals from across world football and the next generation of exceptional talent.

Players aged 16+ who are registered with a professional football club may be considered for participation, subject to VS1 Games selection, invitation and availability.

Players are selected across three player pots:

Participation in any category remains subject to VS1 Games selection. Classification within a Player Pot does not create an automatic right to participate.

Players may be privately invited by VS1 Games or declare their interest in spending part of their summer at a Member Club through the Player Ballot.

At VS1 Games, the badge takes a back seat and the individual footballer becomes the main character.

Players arrive from different clubs, leagues, countries and stages of their careers.

At VS1, they enter the same environment.

No formations. No league table. No eleven-player system.

Just another player standing opposite you.

Every player brings their own personality, fashion, story, identity and playing style. VS1 creates the environment for them to show it.

VS1 strips football back to something simple.

Every VS1 Games Meet is built around short-form, single-elimination 1v1 exhibition competition.

Games are deliberately short.

Win and advance. Lose and you're out.

Players progress through The Draw until one is crowned that Member Club's VS1 Games Champion.

But VS1 is more than the result.

The competition sits inside a wider day of cinematic arrivals, fashion, interviews, personality, culture and behind-the-scenes storytelling, with every matchup forming part of a wider entertainment production designed for episodic viewing rather than traditional live sport.

Professional football tells us where a player plays.

VS1 asks who the player is.

The structure of football means players are almost always experienced through something else: their club, their league, their national team, their position, their transfer value or the result on Saturday.

VS1 creates one day outside that context.

A stage where an established international, a standout player from another football market and an exceptional young prospect can all be presented under the same production standard.

Where the market a footballer plays in does not determine the size of the stage they are given.

Where players can spend part of their summer alongside exceptional footballers from across the world.
